Our Work

The 55,000 sq. ft. complex combines conference and banquet facilities, office space, and a commercial kitchen serving both banquets and office tenants. The building was designed as a part of the landscape, rising up out of the ground. Elements of the building are inspired by Ojibway history and culture. Historical Ojibway quillwork patterns are reflected in the exterior patterning of the building. The main entrances align with the sunrise and sunset of the equinoxes; directly East and West. It was important to bring the landscape into the building. This is achieved with native tree and shrub species all along the main entrance and lobby axis. With reference to traditional Ojibway practice, the main entrance of the building faces East  with a fireplace in the atrium. The public spaces of the building are designed to showcase indigenous artwork and culture.
