This project involved targeted upgrades to address deficiencies in the Town’s Wastewater Treatment System (WWTS), with the goal of improving system performance, regulatory compliance, and long-term reliability. The work included a sludge survey and engineering assessment in Cell 2 to quantify existing sludge levels, along with support to the Town in implementing an enzyme treatment to reduce sludge volume. Additionally, the transfer and discharge pipes in Cell 3 were replaced with larger-diameter pipes to improve flow and minimize clogging. A new drainage ditch was also constructed along the west side of the WWTS to address ongoing drainage issues at the site. The project was delivered in three phases: review of existing design documents from the previous lagoon expansion and the preparation of repair documentation, permitting and approvals, and construction with final handover.
